Considering Some Random Thoughts

I’ve been in a bit of a writing funk. In an attempt to get some traction, here are a few random thoughts that may or may not develop into full-fledged blogs at a later date. Here goes:

  • This blogging thing is not going so well for me. I sit down to write and there’s just nothing. I type a sentence and hit the backspace key. Type another and…backspace. Maybe it’s writer’s block, but I don’t think so. I think it’s that I spend too much time reading what other people write. I get an inspiration, jot down a few thoughts, then before I can get anything written, I cruise a few blogs and low and behold someone else has already said what I wanted to say – only better. There’s that.
  • The Seahawks won the Superbowl with a great big exclamation point. People outside the Northwest still won’t give them the respect they deserve. Oh well, they will just keep doing what they do best – winning one game at a time. Can’t wait for next year.
  • Reading my Facebook news feed during the Superbowl was a riot. People loved/were indifferent to/hated the National Anthem sung by Renee Fleming. People thought the commercials were hilarious/stupid. The half time show was the best/worst ever. Facebook. Gotta love it.
  • I stopped reading things written by and about Mark Driscoll.
  • I love my new job. Still shaking my head over how I’m back to the piano. Didn’t see that coming when we moved away from Chehalis.
  • Grandbaby #5 is due soon. 🙂 This Nana can’t wait to meet Luke Robert.
  • I’m learning to conserve my emotional energy for things that really matter. I could get worked up and vocal about a lot of things. Trying to narrow the focus.
  • I miss the structure of studying every week for a Bible study or class. I’m all over the place.

That’s it for now. Let’s see if it works. 😉
